Heironymus was an interesting, some would say notorious, man. There
are a number of local legends surrounding him, and they paint a very
unsavory picture.
Heironymus was quite the accomplished amateur archeologist. He collected
artifacts from many exotic locations. Many of these items found a
home in his hotel, Tremble Hotel. Today they are on display at Oak
Ridge Mall for your investigation.
Some say Heironymus was mad, worse than mad.
One of the most frightening legends regarding Heironymus is the claim
that he was cursed by one of the artifacts he had discovered. The
artifact entrapped Heironymus’ soul. In order to survive, he
then had to consume the souls of others. Some say that his curse is
what prompted Heironymus to build Tremble Hotel. He would use the
grand hotel to lure his victims in. Perhaps this explains why so many
guests went missing from the hotel and why today it is consider such
a haunted place.
It is said that Heironymus became very skilled at the harvesting of
souls. He became an expert at the use of the gun, the knife, and the
rope. In later years he was said to have turned to more modern and
creative implements of murder. Many guests claimed to hear the sound
of power tools and screams coming from the bowels of the hotel late
at night.
With the rediscovery of Tremble Hotel after years of abandonment,
gruesome sights awaited. Dark corridors littered with crude coffins,
a room filled with corpses and body parts nicknamed the Chamber of
Souls by the investigators who found it, and mysterious visions and
sounds said to be the remnants of the souls that were devoured there.
Heironymus was last seen in 1931 just before he closed and sealed
Tremble Hotel. He is presumed dead but his remains have never been
found.
